Taken to the Xtreme

Martin Rowe with Sam and TessaXtreme Automobiles Annual Motorsport Day!!

Everyone who attended Xtreme Automobiles on Saturday 6th July 2002, were treated to a brilliant array of vehicles.

The event was to introduce the new name of the company, and also to launch what is going to become an annual event.

The weather stayed dry and it looked like summer had finally arrived if only for that day. Visitors were treated to a display of cars ranging from MK II Escort Rally car, Hyundai World Rally car, modern Group N cars and an Ex Works Monte Carlo winning Lancia 037 (which was on loan from David Sutton Motorsport).

The event was opened by Former World Rally Champion, Stig Blomqvist (who, though only booked to open the show, enjoyed himself so much he agreed to stay to the end). He began by cutting a ribbon, which released hundreds of balloons into the sky. He was kept busy all day with signing autographs and talking to the hundreds of people that attended.

The afternoon autograph signing session was left to, British Rally Champion, Martin Rowe and F3000 & GT driver, Jamie Davies.

Whilst the children were kept occupied with the colouring competition and the face painting, the adults were able to enjoy the catering facilities, and even have a go at the various attractions that were on offer. These were, the SEGA Rally Challenge, Radio Control Car Racing, Slot Car Racing and the very popular Pit Stop Challenge.

The fastest time of the day on the Pit Stop Challenge allowed Adrian Farmer from Northallerton, to win a Mitsubishi 3-way Rally Jacket.

Everyone who attended through the day was entered into the prize draw for 2 tickets to the British Grand Prix on Sunday 7th July. The lucky person being Mr. Reeve from Lincoln. What a race to attend!!

It was a great day and everyone fully enjoyed themselves. Can you wait for 2003??
